By Consumer Voice Editorial Team · Last updated: 16 October 2026
A clear, step-by-step guide to cancelling your AVG subscription and turning off auto-renewal — so you are never charged unexpectedly.
Steps to Cancel Your AVG Subscription
These steps apply to subscriptions managed through my.avg.com. If you subscribed via a third-party store, see the FAQ below.
- 1
Sign in to your AVG account
Go to my.avg.com and sign in with the email address linked to your AVG subscription. If you have forgotten your password, use the "Forgot password" link on the login page.
- 2
Open Subscriptions
After signing in, click your account name or avatar in the top-right corner and select "My Subscriptions" from the dropdown menu.
- 3
Find the subscription to cancel
Locate the AVG product you wish to cancel — for example AVG AntiVirus FREE, AVG Internet Security, or AVG Ultimate. Click on it to open the subscription details.
- 4
Turn off auto-renewal
Click "Turn off auto-renewal" or "Cancel subscription". AVG will ask you to confirm. Once confirmed, your subscription will not renew at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until that date.
- 5
Check your email for confirmation
AVG sends a cancellation confirmation to your registered email address. Keep this email as proof of cancellation in case of any future billing disputes.
Tips Before You Cancel
Note the end date of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
Save your cancellation confirmation email as proof.
Subscriptions bought via Google Play or Apple App Store must be cancelled through those stores.
If you are within 30 days of purchase, you may be eligible for a full refund — check our Refund Guide.
