Why AVG Charged You
Understanding your AVG charge
The most common reasons for an AVG charge are a new subscription purchase, an automatic annual renewal, or an upgrade to a higher-tier plan. Log in to my.avg.com and check My Subscriptions and your purchase history to identify the specific charge and its date.
Auto-renewal charges
AVG subscriptions renew automatically each year. If you did not intend to renew, sign in to my.avg.com, go to My Subscriptions, and turn off auto-renewal immediately. If the charge occurred within the last 30 days, you may be eligible for a refund through the official AVG refund form at support.avg.com.
Charges from third-party stores
If you purchased AVG through Google Play, Apple App Store, or another retailer, the charge will appear from that store, not from AVG directly. Contact the relevant store for billing queries or refunds, as AVG cannot process refunds for third-party purchases.
Updating your payment method
To update the card or payment method on your AVG account, sign in to my.avg.com, go to My Subscriptions, and select the subscription you want to update. Click Manage payment to add or replace your payment details before the next renewal date.

How do I identify an unexpected AVG charge?
To identify an unexpected AVG charge, sign in to your AVG account and check your payment history at payments.avg.com and active plans at subscriptions.avg.com. Your statement may show Gen Digital Inc or Norton Ireland Limited. If you still cannot match it, contact AVG Sales Support with the charge date, amount and last four card digits.
AVG charged me after I cancelled — what should I do?
If AVG charged you after you cancelled, first check subscriptions.avg.com and your phone's app store subscriptions to confirm auto-renewal is really off. Then request a refund through AVG's official refund form; purchases made directly from AVG are usually covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee. Keep screenshots of your cancellation and the charge.
