How to Install & Uninstall AVG Security on Windows, Mac & Phone

Install AVG on Windows

Download and install AVG Antivirus on a Windows PC.

    Sign in to your AVG account

    Go to www.avgconsumervoice.com/customer-service and sign in. Navigate to My Subscriptions and click Download next to your product.

    Run the installer

    Open the downloaded .exe file. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes. The AVG setup wizard will launch.

    Follow the on-screen prompts

    Accept the licence agreement and choose your installation preferences. Click Install and wait for the process to complete.

    Activate your subscription

    Once installed, sign in to your AVG account within the app to activate your licence. Your protection starts immediately.

Install AVG on Mac

Download and install AVG Antivirus on a Mac.

    Download the installer

    Sign in to www.avgconsumervoice.com/customer-service, go to My Subscriptions, and click Download. This downloads a .dmg file.

    Double-click the downloaded .dmg file and then double-click the AVG installer package inside it.

    Follow the installation wizard

    Grant the required permissions when prompted by macOS. AVG needs Full Disk Access and other system permissions to function correctly.

    Open AVG from your Applications folder and sign in with your AVG account to activate your subscription.

Install AVG on Mobile

1. Android

Open the Google Play Store, search for "AVG AntiVirus", and tap Install. Once installed, open the app and sign in with your AVG account.

2. iPhone / iPad

Open the Apple App Store, search for "AVG Mobile Security", and tap Get. Open the app and sign in with your AVG account to activate.

How to Uninstall AVG

Remove AVG from your device. For a clean Windows or Mac removal, use the AVG Uninstall Tool tool from the AVG support site.

Windows

  1. 1.Open Control Panel → Programs → Uninstall a Program.
  2. 2.Find AVG in the list and click Uninstall.
  3. 3.For a clean removal, download and run the AVG Uninstall Tool tool from the AVG website — it removes all leftover files and registry entries.

Mac

  1. 1.Open Finder → Applications, find AVG, and drag it to Trash.

Android

iPhone / iPad

How do I uninstall AVG on Windows?

To uninstall AVG AntiVirus on Windows, right-click Start, open Apps and Features, select AVG AntiVirus and click Uninstall.
