Everything consumers need to know about AVG auto-renewal: how it works, when you are charged, and how to turn it off.
How AVG Auto-Renewal Works
AVG uses automatic renewal to keep your protection active without interruption. Here is what you need to know.
Automatic annual renewal
AVG subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. This means AVG will charge your payment method for another year of protection shortly before your current subscription expires. The renewal is for the same product and number of devices unless you change your plan.
When you are charged
AVG typically charges on or just before your renewal date. You should receive a reminder email approximately 30 days before the renewal. Check your spam or junk folder if you did not receive one. The charge appears on your bank statement from AVG or its payment processor.
Renewal pricing
The renewal price may differ from your original purchase price. Introductory discounts do not usually apply to renewals. Check the renewal price shown in your reminder email or in My Subscriptions at my.avg.com before the renewal date if you want to compare prices.
How to turn off auto-renewal
Sign in to my.avg.com, go to My Subscriptions, and click "Turn off auto-renewal" next to the relevant product. You will keep access until the end of your current paid period and will not be charged again. There is no penalty for turning off auto-renewal.
